On display at the Old Manchester Museum!

Above are two extreme rarities in Pitkin Glass. To the right is the famed "JPF" inkwell named after Joseph P. Foster, the superintendant of the glassworks during the 1815-1825 period. The small freeblown bottle measures only 1.8" tall and was excavated at the site on May 14th, 2003, during an organized dig with some local Manchester middle school students, conducted by State Archaeologist Dr. Nick Bellantoni and some his assistants from the Friends of the Office of State Archaeology as well as some members of the Pitkin Group. Both of these treasures can be seen at the Manchester Historical Society's Old Manchester Museum at 126 Center Street in Manchester, Conn.
On this page are pictures of true Pitkin glass rarities and are from the collections of Rick Ciralli,
Jeff & Holly Noordsy, Norman Heckler Sr, Tom Duff and the Manchester Historical Society. Also an important private Connecticut collection. Some of these examples carry important provenance from the noted collections of Charles B. Gardner and Henry Knowlton. Be sure to view every single image! They are all truly amazing objects!
This section is an on-line museum for the true collector and independent scholar!
